Astra Papachristodoulou is a freelance poet and artist, member of the Poetry society, and co-founder of the artist association group ProArtè. Since the staging of her first theatre play The Frame at the Music School of Rhodes at the age of 15, she has pursued a Theatre degree at the University of Surrey and has co-devised the Edinburgh Fringe Festival play What Little Boys are Made of which was reviewed 3-stars from many reviewers amongst the Scotsman Newspaper. Recently, Astra showcased her paintings at contemporary art exhibitions at The Ivy Arts Centre and The Studio, in Guildford, Surrey.
In both painting and poetry, she enjoys the improvisational nature of the process, toying with aestheticism and imagery, and letting the work grow and evolve as she goes along. Her works are triggered through personal experiences and everyday observations, along with engaging with provocative and sensational topics, as well as humour, improvisation and irony.
Born in Rhodes, Greece, she resides in London and is currently at work on her first poetry collection.
